GOLDSHIELD® ANTIMICROBIALS DONATED TO ADRA FOR HAITI RELIEF AND HEALTHCARE PROTECTION

Jan 29, 2010. El Paso,Texas: Sam Hahs of AP Goldshield, and Nancy Martinez President of Triumphant Technologies, of Mc Allen Texas, a distributor of Goldshield® products, announced today a donation by AP Goldshield of their Goldshield® 75, a water-stabilized antimicrobial formula invented at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, which is designed to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi and other harmful organisms. ADRA is the Adventist Development and Relief Agency which is facilitating the distribution of Goldshield in Haiti while providing other significant emergency healthcare providers, relief services and products.

Mindful of the risks of disease posed by the devastating conditions in the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake, doctors and healthcare workers returning from Haiti, have expressed the dire need for products to clean and protect the make-shift hospital environments. Dr. Juan Padilla, Director of Hope International, which has made annual missions to Haiti for years, stated that the number one problem in Haiti is infections.

Ms Martinez, said, “these recent events have worsened the already bleak healthcare situation, yet so many wonderful volunteers in the U.S. have made great progress in helping Haitians by providing the minimum in emergency healthcare, which is such a critical need now for saving lives and mitigating infections. It was our duty to help where we could and protect the environments these patients and doctors are exposed to.”

Mr. Hahs described the technology, presently being used in US hospitals and Universities, as one that will bond to surfaces and textiles leaving a residual long term protection, not requiring constant re-application. As Haiti is in such flux, to have a protective coating that will last for weeks and months, this technology is ideal to help mitigate the spreading of disease.

The recent news concerning CDef, swine fu, and MRSA infections have escalated interest in our product.
It seems so many people have friends or family that have been ,literally, touched by this new generation of “superbugs”.
While Goldshield is not a cure it is a safe simple method of protection. In a practical sense what makes us unique is that not only for hours but for days after application our anti microbial keeps on killing those germs that are creating this havoc. Read more
